Repetitive Strain Injury Treatment

Healing Solutions for Repetitive Strain Injuries

You don't have to suffer. You don't have to wait.
  • You can reduce the pain and swelling.
  • You can heal quickly.
You simply need the right treatment.

One Super Important Fact:

One Super Important Fact

The products below ARE FDA Registered medical devices. These products and treatments ARE intended to prevent, treat and cure Repetitive Strain Injuries and their related pain.

Heal Your Repetitive Strain Injury

Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs) are usually caused by hobbies or tasks performed at the workplace that involve rapid, repeated movements. This makes them extremely difficult to heal. While it is recommended that you take a break from the activity that caused your RSI, we know you can't put your life on hold. You shouldn't have to give up your favorite activities because of RSI. And we know that it's not realistic for you to take time off work because of your RSI. That's why we developed the products that will relieve your pain and help heal your RSI without putting your life on hold. These products are the BFST® and ColdCure® Wraps from King Brand® Healthcare.

The Ultimate Solution:

If you really want to get better, here's exactly what you need to do.

  • Wear a ColdCure® Wrap as much as possible to relieve your pain and swelling and protect your injury from further damage.
  • Do a BFST® treatment first thing every morning. Do 2 or 3 more BFST® treatments throughout the day. This will help you heal quickly.
  • Avoid re-straining the injured area by using KB Support Tape. It may be difficult to rest your injury, but it is very important in the early stages of healing.

Do this and your Repetitive Strain Injury can truly heal - finally.

Blood Flow Is Essential For Healing

You can heal your Repetitive Strain Injury. You don't have to be stuck with it forever. You simply need the right treatment. You need to rest your injury and promote blood flow to the damaged tissue. You need Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy® (BFST®).

BFST® Wraps bring nutrient-rich, oxygenated blood to your injury. This increase in blood flow works to actively heal your injury. Blood flow is the most critical element in rapid recovery. Unfortunately, an injury at rest has very limited blood flow. While physical activity stimulates blood flow, this can cause your condition to become worse than it already is. BFST® Wraps are the solution to this problem. They're designed to speed up the healing process while you're at rest. This means you're getting the healthy blood flow your tissue needs to heal while avoiding re-injury at the same time.

BFST® Devices actively stimulate blood flow. BFST® devices heal soft tissue injuries.

Woman Wearing BFST Wrist

When your injury is at rest, blood flow to the affected area is severely impaired, making it difficult for the healing process to move along. It's high-quality blood flow that enables the healing process, so additional blood flow is required for your Repetitive Strain Injury to heal quickly and completely. This is why using a BFST® Wrap is so important.

BFST® treatments are very pleasant and relaxing. People often notice a slight tingling sensation and warmth deep in the treatment area as the BFST® Wrap starts increasing their blood flow. Since the effects of each 20 minute BFST® treatment last for up to 4 hours, it's best to spread your treatments out throughout the day. King Brand Elbow An ideal treatment regimen would be one treatment first thing in the morning, another treatment in the afternoon, a treatment in the evening and the last treatment of the day right before bed.

Almost as important as stimulating blood flow is the reminder of your injury. This is what helps you move with care to avoid further injury. When you get rid of the reminder, you're risking feeling a false sense of ability that can easily lead to re-injury. And avoiding re-injury is fundamental to rapid recovery. That's why we recommend that you keep wearing your BFST® Wrap between treatments. After a treatment, simply unplug the controller from the device and gently tighten the wrap. This will provide your injury with light support and protection. It will also contribute to a much faster healing time.

Dealing With Pain

RSI Treatment Without Drugs

Repetitive Strain Injuries can be extremely painful and debilitating, causing us to turn to painkillers for some relief. Analgesics and NSAIDs such as ASA, acetaminophen or ibuprofen are often used to treat the pain but these drugs do nothing to treat the actual condition. In fact, analgesics and NSAIDs are known blood thinners and make the bleeding worse for fresh tissue injuries. Typical pain medications actually interfere with the healing process. Cortisone injections are used in extreme cases but these too are intended to address the pain. They do not promote healing of the injury and they put you at a very high risk of further injury.

Painkillers Are BAD, Not Good

Painkillers only mask the pain. They don't address the underlying injury or condition causing that pain. Using painkillers when you're active is dangerous because they block the pain signal. This means you won't be able to tell when you've re-injured yourself. If you need to take painkillers, try to restrict them to times when you're off your feet, such as when you're sleeping.

Avoid the dangers of painkillers. Use a ColdCure® Wrap from King Brand®. ColdCure® Wraps are a safe, effective alternative to painkillers. They even work faster. While painkillers take 20 minutes to kick in, there's no waiting with ColdCure®. As soon as you put the wrap on you will experience the soothing cold and pain relief. Each ColdCure® Wrap is designed to relieve the pain and swelling in the body part you're treating.

ColdCure® Devices Reduce Pain and Swelling

Cold and compression are the two things you need to relieve pain and swelling as quickly as possible. That's why ColdCure® Wraps use cold gels and a compression wrap. ColdCure® Wraps provide firm, even cold compression without any gaps in pressure, so your treatments are as effective as possible.

ColdCure® technology was developed to address the need for a cold compression device that does not freeze the skin or underlying tissue. ColdCure® gel packs pose no threat of cold burns. This makes them much safer to use than products that use ice, which can cause the skin to freeze, leading to permanent damage. Our gel packs are completely safe to use for extended treatment durations, meaning faster relief of pain and swelling. Our ColdCure® technology is a huge improvement on regular ice packs.

ColdCure® Wraps come with 3 swappable gel packs that contain our special XC RigiGel® formula. XC RigiGel® holds its form and doesn't migrate to other areas of the wrap, meaning it stays in place to treat your injury. It won't move, even under heavy pressure for long periods of time. The gel conforms to your body during treatment for maximum comfort. The gel packs are inserted inside the wrap one at a time, so you can have two charging in the freezer to keep your therapy going. Do your ColdCure® treatments in 20 minute intervals throughout the day, or as long as you need the relief.

Protect Your Injury Between Treatments

When you're not using the BFST® or ColdCure® Wraps, your injury becomes vulnerable to further damage. You don't want to make your pain and suffering worse. Avoid re-injury by applying KB Support Tape between your BFST® and ColdCure® treatments. This will provide your fragile tissue with much needed support and protection.

Our skin is soft and elastic and can stretch much more than the tissue underneath. When you apply KB Support Tape to your skin, it becomes a much more rigid surface than before, serving to limit how much the skin can stretch. The Tape makes your skin a source of outside support to hold your tissue in place, helping you avoid re-injury. That's why we call it armor for your injury.

The 2 inch wide variety is ideal for smaller areas (Foot, Wrist), while the 3 inch wide style is better for larger areas (Shoulder, Leg). This also works for your size. The Continuous Rolls of KB Support Tape are designed for people who want to get creative and customize their tape by cutting it into a variety of different shapes and sizes. Each box contains 1 Continuous Roll of KB Support Tape that is either 2 inches or 3 inches wide and 16 feet long.

We encourage you to experiment with different applications for your RSI in order to find the one that works best for you. There are plenty of examples online. Remember to trust the pain. If you feel pain in a specific area, apply the tape there.

The Medical Tape Advantage

What sets KB Support Tape apart from the rest? It's not athletic tape, it's medical tape. This means our Tape is manufactured to ISO 10993 standards, which ensures that our Tape is made from extremely safe, biocompatible materials. Our Tape is actually made from materials that are safer than most baby products, including toys, clothes and even diapers. Don't let the big brand tapes fool you. Most of them are made with highly toxic materials, because there are no standards for athletic tape. Some big brand tape glues even contain carcinogenic ingredients. At King Brand®, your health and safety are of utmost importance, which is why KB Support Tape is manufactured to such high standards.

For Your Wrist

ColdCure® Wrist Wrap

Use our ColdCure® Wrist Wrap if you have RSI in your hands or wrists. The Wrist Wrap does an amazing job of controlling pain and swelling. It can be applied several different ways depending on the treatment area you want to target. If you have arm RSI but your arm is on the smaller side, we recommend the Wrist Wrap.

BFST® Wrist Wrap

Use our BFST® Wrist Wrap if you have RSI in your hands or wrists. The BFST® Wrist Wrap works to actively stimulate blood flow in the area of your injury, speeding up the healing process. The Energy Web® inside the wrap will conform to the treatment area to ensure there is an even distribution of energy over your entire injury.

KB Support Tape

Prevent further damage to your wrist between BFST® and ColdCure® treatments with KB Support Tape. It provides your wrist with protection, support and compression whenever you need it. For Your Shoulder

Coldcure gel wrap coverage zone

We have two different Shoulder Wraps that target two different areas. The Top Shoulder Wraps are designed to target injuries in the top of the shoulder. The Side Shoulder Wraps are designed to target injuries in the side of the shoulder. Generally speaking, if you have a Deltoid injury or Upper Bicep Tendonitis, you should use the Side Shoulder Wraps. If you happen to have a Supraspinatus or Infraspinatus injury, or a case of Frozen Shoulder, use should use the Top Shoulder Wraps. It all depends on what area you need to target. Rotator Cuff injuries are a little more tricky, as it depends on which part of the Rotator Cuff is injured. Pay attention to where the pain is. Is it closer to the "top" or the "side"? Take a look at the coverage zone image above to help you determine which wrap would best target your injury.

The Top Shoulder Wraps are ideal for use on injuries located in the top of the shoulder. This includes Supraspinatus and Infraspinatus injuries, Labrum Tears and Frozen Shoulder. These Wraps will relieve the pain and swelling and speed the healing of any muscle, tendon or ligament injuries in the top of your shoulder. They're custom designed to cover your scapula, collar bone, rotator cuff and the top of your deltoid. The Top Shoulder Wraps come with 3 Extension Straps (Small, Medium & Large) that you can attach to adjust the size and fit.

Our Side Shoulder Wraps are uniquely designed to target injuries in the side of the shoulder. This ensures the best treatment and coverage possible. If you are suffering from Upper Bicep Tendonitis or a Deltoid injury, these are the wraps for you. The side of the shoulder is usually a difficult area to treat, but these Wraps will mold comfortably to the entire side of your shoulder with no gaps. The 3 Extension Straps (Small, Medium & Large) included with the Side Shoulder Wraps allow you to customize the fit.

Combination Therapy
BFST® + ColdCure® Treatments

BFST® for Rapid Healing
ColdCure® for Pain & Swelling
KB Tape to Prevent Re-Injury

Combination Therapy means using ColdCure® and BFST® in combination by alternating treatments, as well as using KB Support Tape between your treatments. Combination Therapy is much more effective than using just one product or the other. This is because you're getting the pain and swelling relief of ColdCure®, the healing benefits of BFST®, as well as the protection and re-injury prevention of KB Support Tape, resulting in the absolute best treatment for your Repetitive Strain Injury.

Step 1

Use the ColdCure® Wrap several times a day to reduce not only the visible swelling you may see on the surface, but also the inflammation you may have and cannot see, deep down in the soft tissue.

Step 2

Combination Therapy

Avoid using the BFST® Wrap until your inflammation and swelling has subsided. Start your BFST® treatments on Level 1. For maximum benefit, please take into consideration that each 20 minute treatment optimizes your blood circulation for an average of 4 hours. We recommend 3-4 treatments daily, spread throughout the day. During the day, do a BFST® treatment every 4 hours or before any type of physical activity. This can include anything that puts a strain on the injured area (reaching above your head, typing, lifting a heavy load, etc). This can also be used for preventative measures after a full recovery to optimize your blood flow.

Step 3

Do a ColdCure® treatment any time you experience a pain flare-up or after any physical activity to prevent further injury and reduce swelling and inflammation. 30-45 minutes after your ColdCure® treatment, follow with another BFST® treatment. This time will allow the blood flow and body temperature to regulate again. Refrain from using ColdCure® within the 4 hours following your 20 minute BFST® treatment. This will counteract the treatment. If necessary, use the ColdCure® Wrap for pain control, then follow up with another BFST® treatment.

Step 4

Any time you're not doing a ColdCure® or BFST® treatment, wear KB Support Tape over your Repetitive Strain Injury. If you're taping and doing multiple BFST® treatments throughout the day, do your first BFST® treatment before the Tape is applied and your last treatment after the Tape has been removed at the end of the day.

Medical Function - BFST® Wrap - Accelerated Healing

BFST® Wraps are Class II FDA Registered medical devices. In addition to our FDA Registration we also have Health Canada certification. In order to pass the FDA and Health Canada approval processes, our BFST® devices had to meet very high standards of quality, safety and performance. Consumer grade products that you can find in a store can't say the same. BFST® Wraps comply with hundreds of pages of regulations and standards that are designed to keep you safe and ensure effective treatments.

The Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy® (BFST®) Wrap is designed to promote blood flow in injured tissue below the dermal (fat and skin) layer. Utilizing our proprietary Energy Web®, specially controlled and incredibly safe, low levels of EMR energy envelop the affected body part and stimulate blood flow in the soft tissue deep beneath the skin. The resulting stimulation brings oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to the injured area, accelerating the healing process.

BFST Power Controller

BFST® Wraps come with a 3 level power controller. Everyone should start their treatments at Level 1 and work their way through the levels gradually as they heal. Proceeding immediately to Level 2 or 3 will not speed up your healing time. You need to condition the body first.

When you first start your treatments on Level 1, the treatment area will feel quite warm. This is because at first, your circulation is poor. The more treatments you do, the better your circulation will become and the less warmth you will feel. This is good. As the warmth lessens from treatment to treatment, this is an indication that your circulation is improving. Better circulation means blood flow all the time, not just during treatments. This is the goal. When you feel almost no warmth during a treatment, it is time to move up to the next power level. Don't rush it though, more heat doesn't mean better treatment. In fact, less heat means better treatment, so take your time moving up in levels.

BFST® Wraps are far superior to heating pads. BFST® Wraps stimulate additional blood flow in the area of your injury. Heating pads bring blood to the surface of your skin, making it hot to the touch. This does nothing to heal the damaged tissue below. BFST® works to actively heal soft tissue damage by promoting blood flow. Heating pads can't do this.

The Energy Web® of the BFST® device is inserted inside a soft, comfortable neoprene wrap. The wrap molds the Energy Web® comfortably around the treatment area to ensure there is an even distribution of energy over your injury. We have BFST® Wraps for every part of the body, so no matter where your Repetitive Strain Injury is, there is a wrap that's been specially designed to treat it. The Velcro® straps attached to the wrap allow for easy adjustment, so you can find the perfect fit for your body. You don't need to remove the BFST® Wrap after a treatment. Keep wearing it to act as a reminder of your injury and to help prevent further injury.

Complete the Healing Process

Don't stop using the BFST® Wrap. Even once the pain is gone, your injury may only be 20% or 30% healed. The healing process takes much longer than most people realize. The key thing to remember is that even once the pain is gone, your RSI is still healing. You need to continue doing BFST® treatments in order to complete the healing process. Doing regular BFST® treatments for several months after the pain is gone is extremely beneficial. Do a BFST® treatment prior to any physical activity. This will act as a warm up for your circulatory system. You should also continue to use KB Support Tape to help protect the affected area from re-injury.

Medical Function - ColdCure® Wrap - Extreme Pain Relief

ColdCure® Wraps are Class I FDA Registered medical devices. They exceed all government and health agency regulatory requirements for cold therapy, specifically for use in treating soft tissue injuries. When applied, these medical grade wraps immediately reduce the risk of further damage from excessive swelling. Doctors and Therapists agree that controlling swelling is a fundamental part of reducing long-term permanent damage resulting from soft tissue injuries.

ColdCure Stays at a Safe Temperature

ColdCure® RigiGel® packs are much safer and more effective than ice and products that use mushy blue gel. Why? Because RigiGel® packs are like ice, but they stay at 0°C. While they may start at about -20°C straight from the freezer, after a few minutes they will go to 0°C and stay at 0°C for a long time. This is the ideal temperature for cold therapy, because it's cold enough to relieve your pain and swelling but safe enough to not cause cold burns. Ice and blue gel packs will also start out at
-20°C and rapidly go to 0°C, but then their temperature will keep rising quickly, instead of staying in the safe, effective zone of 0°C. The XC Gel® danger zone is very small, but the benefits are huge.

While XC Gel® packs are designed to be stored in the freezer, you can store them in the fridge if you find them too cold from the freezer. If you find that the gel is too stiff from the freezer, leave it out for several minutes before inserting it inside the wrap. This will make it more flexible, while still retaining maximum cold capacity.

Rest, Cold, Compression, Elevation

Many people follow the RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation - formula when treating a soft tissue injury. What these people probably don't know is that there are serious dangers associated with using ice to treat soft tissue injuries. Ice can actually freeze your skin and numb your nerves, causing 'cold burns' and even permanent damage to your underlying tissue. The proper solution is RCCE® - Rest, Cold, Compression & Elevation. We don't want to apply ice - we want to apply cold that is just above freezing. Yes, you want cold - and lots of it - but not so cold that it is below the freezing point of water.

XC Gel® packs contain 10x more gel per lb than other products, meaning they cover a much larger treatment area. Although our gel packs are large, they're never bulky, so your treatments are always comfortable. When stored in the freezer, XC Gel® packs also have 3x more cooling power per lb than other products. This means longer treatment times without having to swap the gel packs in and out. It also means faster relief of pain and swelling.

RSI Coverage Zone

ColdCure® gel packs are custom designed for the area of the body you're treating. The wrap molds the gel pack around the injured area to ensure you get an even distribution of cooling power over your entire injury. We don't just use one generic gel pack shape for all of our wraps, because we know it wouldn't target all the areas of the body properly. Every body part is uniquely shaped, which is why our gel packs are uniquely shaped too. The special design of XC Gel® packs means that they provide uniform, complete coverage of your injury. These devices have 100% been designed to treat Repetitive Strain Injuries.

Unique XC RigiGel® Formula

While other gel packs have hot and cold spots, causing inconsistent and uneven treatments, our gel packs have a perfectly balanced cold temperature. Our unique XC RigiGel® formula eliminates hot spots by distributing the cold energy evenly throughout the pack. This means your injury will receive the cooling power of the entire pack during every treatment. The temperature-balancing power of these gel packs is unmatched.

XC Gel® packs have 2 different colored sides: a white side and a gold side. Both sides will provide you with all the same benefits that our amazing XC RigiGel® formula has to offer. XC Gel® packs can be inserted inside the wrap with the white side facing towards your body or away from your body since they're not side specific.
