Thank you for your interest in our products and your enquiry about the technology behind Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST).

The BFST is a diathermic device that stimulates sub-dermal tissue. It will stimulate blood flow deep within the soft tissue, providing nutrient-rich blood and optimized blood flow to the area being treated. This energy does not penetrate to your bones. Diathermy is well recognized and accepted by the medical community as an effective means of promoting sub-dermal blood flow in order to speed up healing and recovery times.

The BFST product uses proprietary technology and is an advanced diathermic device over older technology like Ultrasound. For example, you would probably treat yourself with Ultrasound for 10-15 minutes at a power level of about 1W over a very small area. With the BFST you would be treating yourself for 20 minutes at a time, with about 10W of energy, using the unit over a much larger target area. That's 10x the power for a longer duration. And the treatments promote the blood flow for a longer period after treatment. It is also much safer than Ultrasound (as there is no risk of small, localized sub-dermal tissue damage) and does not interfere with implanted medical devices like Microwave and Shortwave devices do. It's really just newer technology that does a much better job.

Our Energy Webs produce Electro-Magnetic Energy (EMR) well below the more dangerous visible light frequencies, (within the ultra-safe bands of the EMR spectrum at very safe power levels), at a frequency that is far above the highly magnetic frequencies like Shortwave. We feel our technology is superior to Shortwave, Ultrasound, Microwave and IR LED.

The Energy Web transmitter is flexible and has been ergonomically shaped to form fit. The Wrap is form-fitting, supportive and manufactured to medical quality standards. In fact, our devices are FDA and Health Canada registered, and King Brand Healthcare Products is an FDA registered and a Health Canada certified medical company.

During treatment some users experience a heating sensation, but the device is NOT a heating pad. A heating pad merely heats the surface of the skin whereas the BFST device penetrates deep below the skin to stimulate blood flow. BFST improves circulation and promotes faster healing - Heating pads don't.

King Brand is constantly investing in R&D and one key focus of the product development behind our Energy Web is to find ways to increase the diathermic output, while simultaneously reducing the amount of heat the device produces. There is still some heat produced by the device as a bi-product of generating our diathermic energy, but we are always trying to reduce this undesirable component of the process. That we design our product to produce as little heat as possible is the most significant difference between BFST and heating pad technology - The two technologies have diametrically opposed modes of operation.

We recommend all new users start their BFST treatments at Level 1. If a heating sensation is experienced, the level used should be decreased until heating is no longer present during a treatment. Only then should the next level be used. The heat bi-product of BFST treatments works to lessen the effectiveness of BFST, so better results are gained at a lower setting where no heat is felt rather than when the area feels warm. There is no need to move up quickly in levels; many people never treat themselves at Level 3.

Unfortunately some people find the heat soothing and this encourages them to move up levels prematurely.  It's not harmful to do this, so if you find pain relief from the warmth of a session this isn't going to cause harm, you just won't get as much blood flow benefit from each treatment; flushing the area with blood from heating interferes with the device's ability to penetrate deeply.

I hope this information has been helpful, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns .

Thanks. Does the BFST proprietary technology have a registered patent?

No, the BFST is not a patented device.
