General Discussion / Re: Plantar therapy-feet
« on: June 30, 2015, 09:55:42 AM »
Hi Mariza, thank you for your post. In regards to your recent cortisone injection, we recommend that you do not use the BFST for 6 weeks following the shot. Cortisone has a rare side affect of increasing ones blood pressure, so just to be safe we say wait the 6 weeks. In the meantime however, cold therapy will help ease the pain and discomfort. Rest your foot on a cold compress 3-4 times a day, especially after being active on them.

I have included a link to our testimonial page and hope that others respond to your post with success stories of their own.

General Discussion / Re: KT Tape & BFST same time?
« on: June 10, 2015, 08:58:34 AM »
Good morning. Yes you can wear the KB Tape while treating with the BFST. Anything in between your skin and the wrap will decrease the effectiveness slightly, but with the tape it wouldn't be enough to be concerned about. I performed all my BFST treatments on my foot with the tape on for about a month and got great results.

Questions & Answers About Our Products / Re: BFST Vs Heating Pad
« on: June 02, 2015, 08:52:07 AM »
Hi Michelle and thank you for your interest.

The BFST and ColdCure are registered medical devices whereas the KB Basics are consumer grade. The Basics Heating wrap is a heating pad that contains an infrared heating element in order to soothe and relax the targeted area. The BFST (Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy) on the other hand, is a diathermic device designed to stimulate blood flow via Electro Magnetic Energy. The BFST is designed to heal soft tissue injuries.

In regards to Patellar Subluxation, the treatment itself will not prevent the knee cap/patella from sliding, but it will help heal the surrounding tendons and ligaments that have been affected (which is what typically causes the pain and discomfort).

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Amber

General Discussion / Re: BFST used on non-injured knee
« on: May 21, 2015, 10:02:20 AM »
Hi Justreal.

Yes the BFST can be used on an non-injured knee. Increased circulation is always beneficial. Increasing blood circulation provides your muscles and arteries with oxygen rich blood improving your overall health. The ability to fight infection, heal injuries, provide energy, and filter toxins are all benefits associated with increased blood flow. It also helps with injury prevention.

General Discussion / Re: Inflamation and BFST
« on: May 16, 2015, 10:33:37 AM »
Hi Justreal,

I responded to your second post regarding your ultrasound. Yes, it is safe to use it while using our products. We do recommend however that you wait the 3-4 hours after a BFST treatment before using the ultrasound.

Kind regards,
Amber

Hi Justreal,

Yes you can use your ultrasound while using our products. The more stimulated blood flow the better :)

The BFST promotes optimal blood flow for 3-4 hours after a treatment, so I would recommend doing your ultrasound after that to get the best results.

Kind regards,
Amber

Questions & Answers About Our Products / Re: Healing Time Frame?
« on: May 03, 2015, 10:37:41 AM »
Thank you for your enquiry.

1. Healing times always vary from person to person and there are so many different contributing factors for delayed recoveries, but on average, 4 months is a good goal. I have included a link that will go over the stages of healing and also ways in which to optimize your treatments to help you heal faster.

2. The pain may be gone in a few weeks, but your body continues to heal itself long after the pain has disappeared. We recommend continuing treatments for the estimated minimum of 4 months if pain free.

I hope this has answered your questions. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,
Amber

Hi Michelle. Thank you for your enquiry.

Any treatment is better than no treatment. For a working schedule, where performing treatments at work is not an option, we recommend doing one treatment first thing when you wake up, once after work and once again before bed. This is for ideal daily circulation when trying to heal an injury. However, as mentioned, any treatments you can do is better than nothing. The more treatments you are able to do throughout your day, the faster your recovery.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

General Discussion / Re: Piriformus Syndrome Problems
« on: February 25, 2015, 12:06:11 PM »
Hi Becca,

I have included a response that was made previously on our forum from one of our staff members who also suffered with Piriformus Syndrome.

------

I actually was suffering not long ago with a tight piriformis which caused major sciatica issues.  My biggest issue was standing from a sitting position without excruciating pain, or being able to fully extend my right leg flat out in front of me when seated.  The ColdCure back was a wonderful product.  First thing in the morning, I would use the first gel (out of the fridge, not freezer) for about 30min, then I would swap it out for a 2nd cold one.  By about 15 min through the second gel, my pain was substantially gone and I could function again.  I used the BFST 2-3 times per day around my schedule.  I went to physio two times per week for 3 weeks and was down to once a week for only 2 more weeks and then I was released.  Physiotherapy consisted of stretching exercises (both done by myself and manually by the physiotherapist).  After each session they applied cold (to decrease inflammation caused from working the area during the physio session) followed by some form of therapy (electric currant; laser; ultrasound etc., basically to stimulate the bloodflow)  At home I would follow my regular treatment regimen of BFST and ColdCure as well.  My physiotherapist was amazed at how quickly my condition improved since typically, sessions are usually 3 times per week for 6 weeks or more.  It was probably more due to the fact that I didn't have to wait for my physio appointments in order to keep my bloodflow stimulated.  I was able to continue, not only my stretching exercises, but was also able to use my products at home in between sessions.  When first starting physio, I could not lift my right leg to even a 45 degree angle (while laying flat on my back).  Within the 5 weeks (only 8 physio treatments) my leg could be extended way past a 90 degree angle.  I now have full range of motion and absolutely no pain whatsoever.

Hi Lucky. Thank you for your enquiry and for your interest in King Brand.

Our 'Basics' line are consumer grade products, not medical devices like the BFST and ColdCure products are. The Basics Achilles Cold Pack has the same gel as the ColdCure Achilles Wrap, except it does not have the XC component (distributes the cold energy evenly). It does contain Perpachil and RigiGel technology so it forms well and holds lots of cold. Also, the single gel pack of the Basics product is sewn into place an is not swappable like ColdCure products. The ColdCure comes with 3 gel packs and is adjustable by Velcro, whereas the Basics wraps are not.

The Basics heating pad is NOT a BFST device. It does not contain an Energy Web. It contains an infrared heating element made from carbon fiber heating wires. As heating pads go, its probably the best one money can buy as they are molded to fit the body and we use very high quality heating pads.  Our BFST wraps are diathermic devices that stimulate blood flow deep within soft tissue, providing nutrient-rich blood and optimized blood flow to the area being treated. You still feel a nice warming sensation from the BFST, but it is not the form of treatment.

For a nice soothing, relaxing effect the Basics Heating Pads are ideal. For the healing of soft tissue injuries, the BFST is the way to go.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hi shigh44. I am happy to hear the BFST has been helping relieve some of the pain you have been experiencing. Unfortunately, when it comes to your fracture, the BFST won't be able to stimulate bone growth. The BFST works by stimulating blood flow in and through soft tissue only. This will however, as you have already been experiencing, help heal the surrounding soft tissue that may have been stressed/damaged during the fracture. It will not make the fracture worse in any way, so treatments on and around the area will not affect you negatively. Increased circulation to the knee area is always beneficial as it is the one area in our body that gets very minimal blood flow.

I hope I have been able to answer your questions. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Questions & Answers About Our Products / Re: early arthritis in shoulders
« on: January 05, 2015, 11:35:21 PM »
Hi Delina. Thank you for your post.

I am so sorry to hear of the pain you are experiencing. If what you have is a partial tear of the rotator cuff, the BFST will help mend the damage. If however it is a 'complete' tear, the BFST will not assist in the healing. The ColdCure, in either case, will help with both the swelling/inflammation and pain.

You can swap out the ColdCure gel packs for the Energy Web that is inside the BFST, and use the same wrap. Both are very easy to remove and reinsert.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us further.
