One Super Important Fact:
Night Splints and other stretching aids are BAD for Plantar Fasciitis and do more harm than good. Plantar Fasciitis is caused by excessive stretching and overloading of the Plantar Fascia. The Plantar Fascia does not stretch - it is not supposed to. Stretching will not help heal your Plantar Fasciitis; it puts strain on your Plantar which can actually damage it further and make your situation worse.
Rapid Recovery for Plantar Fasciitis
The Plantar is designed by nature not to stretch so that it can provide the structural tension your foot needs to support the full weight of your body. Plantar Fasciitis occurs when the thick band of tissue on the bottom of your foot is damaged from being overstretched or overused. Further stretching is only going to make your situation worse! While resting the foot will help you prevent re-injury, you need something more proactive if you want to heal as quickly as possible. You need something that will relieve the pain and heal your Plantar in a reduced amount of time. You need our ColdCure® and BFST® Foot Wraps.
The Ultimate Solution:
If you really want to get better, here's exactly what you need to do.
- Wear a ColdCure® Wrap as much as possible to relieve your pain and swelling and protect your Plantar from further damage.
- Do a BFST® treatment first thing every morning. Do 2 or 3 more BFST® treatments throughout the day. This will help you heal quickly.
- Avoid re-straining your Plantar as much as possible. Using KB Support Tape® will help with this. Resting your foot is hard, but it is very important in the early stages of healing.
Do this and your Plantar Fasciitis can truly heal - finally.
Blood Flow Is Essential For Healing
You don't have to wait for endless months in pain. You can heal your Plantar Fasciitis. All you need is the right treatment. You need to rest your foot and stimulate high-quality blood flow to your Plantar Fascia. You need Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy® (BFST®).
BFST® Wraps bring nutrient-rich, oxygenated blood flow to your injured Plantar Fascia. This increase in blood flow works to heal your damaged tissues. Blood flow is the most critical element in rapid recovery. Unfortunately, an injured foot at rest often has very restricted blood flow. While physical activity stimulates blood flow, it can also lead to re-injury and a lengthened recovery time. The BFST® Foot Wrap solves this problem because it is designed to bring additional blood flow to the injured area while you're at rest. This means you can rest and avoid re-injury while the increase in blood flow works to heal your Plantar Fasciitis. You can't find this technology anywhere else.
BFST® Devices are Electrical Medical Appliances that
actively stimulate blood flow in injured tissue.
BFST® devices heal soft tissue.
BFST® stimulates blood flow through the entire bottom of your foot and up the back of your heel while you are at rest. This is very important because while at rest, an unaided and inflamed Plantar Fascia can otherwise have seriously impeded blood flow. It is the oxygen and nutrient-rich blood that enables the healing process, so adequate blood flow is required for the Plantar Fascia to heal properly and quickly.
The BFST® Wrap is easy to use. Put it on, plug it in, turn it on and let your blood flow start improving. BFST® treatments are incredibly pleasant and relaxing. They feel great. People often notice a warming sensation and slight tingling sensation from the increase in blood flow. We recommend that you do 3-4 BFST® treatments per day. The effects of each 20 minute BFST® treatment last for up to 4 hours. For best results, spread your treatments out over the course of the day. Since you'll be at rest during treatment, it's a great time to catch up on activities such as reading, watching TV and surfing the internet.
Almost as important as the promotion of blood flow is the reminder of your injury. The reminder is what helps you move with care so you don't overdo it and end up making your Plantar Fasciitis worse. Avoiding re-injury is fundamental to rapid recovery. That's why the BFST® Foot Wrap is designed to be worn even when turned off. Wearing the wrap between treatments will remind you to rest and stay off your foot as much as possible, while also providing light support and protection for your foot.
Dealing With Pain
Plantar Fasciitis can be an extremely painful and debilitating condition to live with. This pain may cause you to rely on painkillers for relief. Analgesics and NSAIDs such as ASA, acetaminophen or ibuprofen are often used to treat the pain but these drugs do nothing to treat the actual condition. In fact, analgesics and NSAIDs are known blood thinners and make the bleeding worse for fresh tissue injuries. Typical pain medications actually interfere with the healing process. Cortisone injections are used in extreme cases but these too are intended to address the pain. They do not promote healing of the injury itself and they put you at a very high risk of further injury.
Painkillers are BAD, Not Good
All painkillers do is mask the pain. They don't do anything to address the actual condition causing that pain. This can cause you to feel a false sense of ability, leading to re-injury and a much longer recovery time. It's understandable that you may need to take painkillers from time to time, just make sure you restrict them to times when you're at rest. You can use painkillers to help you sleep. Using them when you are active is a recipe for permanent damage.
Avoid the Dangers of Painkillers
ColdCure® Wraps are much safer and more effective than painkillers. They do an outstanding job of relieving the pain and inflammation that comes with Plantar Fasciitis, without any of the negative aspects of painkillers. ColdCure® Wraps also work faster than painkillers. As soon as you put the Foot Wrap on, you will feel the cool, soothing relief. With painkillers, you have to wait 20 minutes until the effects kick in.
ColdCure® Devices Reduce Pain and Swelling.
ColdCure® Devices are NOT typical cold or ice packs.
For dealing with swelling and pain associated with Plantar Fasciitis, nothing works better than cold and compression.
ColdCure® technology was developed specifically to address the need for a cold compression device that does not freeze the skin and underlying tissue. As a result, ColdCure® therapy can be applied for extended periods of time, providing superior relief from the pain and swelling that comes with Plantar Fasciitis. While King Brand® makes ColdCure® devices for all parts of the body, there's no better version than the ColdCure® Plantar Wrap. Put it on and you will instantly feel relief and relaxation as it draws the pain and tension out of your foot and Plantar Fascia.
The ColdCure® Foot Wrap comes with 3 swappable cold packs that contain our special XC RigiGel® formula. XC RigiGel® is like rubber ice. It holds its form and doesn't migrate to other areas of the wrap, meaning it stays in place to treat your Plantar Fasciitis. It's both firm and flexible for the most comfortable treatments possible. XC RigiGel® won't move, even when put under heavy pressure for long periods of time. The gel packs are inserted inside the wrap one at a time, so you can have the other two charging in the freezer to keep your therapy going. Do your ColdCure® treatments in 20 minute intervals throughout the day, or as long as you need the relief.
Protect Your Plantar Between Treatments
When you're not doing BFST® or ColdCure® treatments, your already damaged tissue becomes vulnerable to further injury. You don't want to re-injure your fragile, healing tissue and make your Plantar Fasciitis worse than it already is. Apply KB Support Tape over your Plantar Fascia between your BFST® and ColdCure® treatments. This will provide your injured tissue with ongoing support and protection.
Our skin is soft and elastic and can stretch much more than the tissue underneath. When you apply KB Support Tape to your skin, it becomes a much more rigid surface than before, serving to limit how much the skin can stretch. The Tape makes your skin a source of outside support to hold your tissue in place, helping to prevent re-injury. That's why we call it armor for your injury.
KB Support Tape - Use All Day During Work & Play
KB Support Tape provides lightweight, comfortable compression to relieve your swelling throughout the day. It also helps to prevent re-injury by giving your healing tissue targeted support and protection without restricting your range of motion.
KB Support Tape comes in 2 different styles: Pre-Cut Strips and a Continuous Roll. These styles also come in 4 colors: Pink, Blue, Black & Beige. There's no functional difference between the colors, they just allow you to express your individual style.
The Pre-Cut Strips of KB Support Tape are fast, easy and convenient. Since they already cut into ready-to-use strips, you can just apply and go! Every roll of Pre-Cut KB Support Tape contains 20 individual strips. Each Pre-Cut strip is 2 inches wide and 10 inches long.
The Continuous Rolls of KB Support Tape are perfect if you're looking for a more customizable tape. You can cut the Tape into a variety of different shapes and sizes to achieve a completely unique application for your Plantar Fasciitis. Each box contains 1 Continuous Roll of KB Support Tape that is 2 inches wide and 16 feet long.
While we found the application to the right to be effective for Plantar Fasciitis, it's only an example. We encourage you to try different applications for Plantar Fasciitis to find the one that works best for you. Also, remember to trust the pain. If you feel pain in a specific area of your foot, apply the tape there.
The Medical Tape Advantage
What sets KB Support Tape apart from the rest? It's not athletic tape, it's medical tape. This means our Tape is manufactured to ISO 10993 standards, which ensures that our Tape is made from extremely safe, biocompatible materials. Our Tape is actually made from safer materials than most baby products, including diapers, toys and clothing. Don't let the big brand tapes fool you. Most of them are made from toxic materials, because there are no standards for athletic tape. Some big brand tape glues even contain carcinogenic ingredients. At King Brand®, your health and safety is of utmost importance, which is why KB Support Tape is manufactured to such high standards.

Combination Therapy BFST® + ColdCure® + KB Tape
for Rapid Healing
for Pain & Swelling
to Prevent Re-Injury
Combination Therapy means combining ColdCure® and BFST® by alternating treatments, as well as using KB Support Tape between your treatments. Combination Therapy is much more effective than using just one product or the other. This is because you're getting the pain and swelling relief of ColdCure®, the healing benefits of BFST®, as well as the protection and re-injury prevention of KB Support Tape, resulting in the absolute best treatment for your Plantar Fasciitis.
Use the ColdCure® Wrap several times a day to help reduce not only the visible swelling you may see on the surface, but also the inflammation you may have and cannot see, deep down in the soft tissue.
Avoid using the BFST® Wrap until your inflammation and swelling has subsided. Start your BFST® treatments on Level 1. For maximum benefit, please take into consideration that each 20 minute treatment optimizes your blood circulation for an average of 4 hours. We recommend 3-4 treatments daily, spread throughout the day. During the day, do a BFST® treatment every 4 hours or before any type of physical activity. This can include anything that puts a strain on the injured area (walking, standing for extended periods, etc). This can also be used for preventative measures after a full recovery to optimize your blood flow.
Do a ColdCure® treatment any time you experience a pain flare-up or after any physical activity to prevent further injury and reduce swelling and inflammation. Wait 30-45 minutes after your ColdCure® treatment before doing a BFST® treatment. This time will allow the blood flow and body temperature to regulate again. Refrain from using ColdCure® within the 4 hours following your 20 minute BFST® treatment. This will counteract the treatment. If necessary, use the ColdCure® Wrap for pain control, then follow up with another BFST® treatment.
Any time you're not doing a ColdCure® or BFST® treatment, wear KB Support Tape® on the bottom of your foot. If you're taping and doing multiple BFST® treatments throughout the day, do your first BFST® treatment before the Tape is applied and your last treatment after the Tape has been removed at the end of the day.

Medical Function - BFST® Wrap - Accelerated Healing
BFST® Wraps are FDA Registered Class II medical devices. BFST® Wraps are designed, manufactured and tested to very high standards of safety, quality and efficacy. They comply with hundreds of pages of regulations and standards put forth by the FDA to keep you safe and ensure effective treatments. Manufacturers of consumer grade products can't say the same, because they're not FDA Registered.
The Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy® (BFST®) Wrap is designed to promote blood flow in injured tissue below the dermal (fat and skin) layer. Utilizing our proprietary Energy Web®, specially controlled and incredibly safe, low levels of EMR energy envelop your Plantar Fascia and stimulate blood flow in the soft tissue deep beneath the skin. The resulting stimulation brings oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to the injured area, accelerating the healing process.
BFST® Wraps come with a 3 level power controller. Everyone should start their treatments on Level 1 and work their way through the levels gradually as they heal. Proceeding immediately to Level 2 or 3 will not speed up your healing time. You need to condition the body first.
During your first few treatments on Level 1, the bottom of your foot will feel quite warm. This is because, at first, your circulation is poor. The more treatments you do, the less warming sensation you will feel. This is good. As the warmth lessens from treatment to treatment, this is an indication that the circulation in your Plantar Fascia is improving. Better circulation means blood flow all the time, not just during treatments. This is the goal. When you feel very little warmth during a treatment, it is time to move up to the next power level. Don't rush it though, more heat does not mean better treatment. In fact, less heat means better treatment, so take your time moving up in levels.
BFST® Wraps are far more effective than heating pads. BFST® Wraps work to actively heal your soft tissue by bringing healthy blood flow to your Plantar Fascia. Heating pads simply bring blood to the surface of your skin, making it hot to the touch. This does nothing to heal the damaged tissues below. The difference between a BFST® Wrap and a heating pad is huge.
The BFST® Plantar device comes with the Energy Web® inserted inside a soft, comfortable neoprene wrap. The wrap shapes the Energy Web® to mold to the bottom of your foot and up the back of your heel. This ensures that there is an even distribution of energy over your Plantar Fascia. The wrap is opened and closed using attached Velcro® straps that allow you to adjust the fit. When your treatment ends, simply unplug the controller from the wrap and tighten the straps around your foot. This will provide your foot with snug support and protection.
Complete the Healing Process
You need to keep doing BFST® treatments even after the pain is gone, because the pain ends long before you've finished healing. The entire healing process is very complex and takes much longer than most people realize. (You can click here for the full story.) The key thing to remember is that long after the pain stops, your Plantar Fasciitis is still healing. This means you need to continue doing BFST® treatments in order to complete the healing process. Doing regular BFST® treatments for several months after the pain is gone is extremely beneficial. Do a BFST® treatment prior to any physical activity to warm up your circulatory system. You should also continue taping your foot to help prevent re-injury.
Medical Function - ColdCure® Wrap - Extreme Pain Relief
ColdCure® Wraps are FDA Registered Class I medical devices. Cold and compression applied to Plantar Fasciitis immediately reduces the risk of further damage from excessive swelling. Doctors and Therapists agree that controlling swelling is a fundamental part of reducing long term, permanent damage resulting from soft tissue injuries. The ColdCure® Wrap exceeds all government and health agency regulatory requirements for cold therapy, specifically for use in treating soft tissue injuries.
ColdCure® RigiGel® packs are much safer and more effective than ice and products that use mushy blue gel. Why? Because RigiGel® packs are like ice, but they stay at 0°C. While they may start at about -20°C straight from the freezer, after a few minutes they will go to 0°C and stay at 0°C for a long time. This is the ideal temperature for cold therapy, because it's cold enough to relieve your pain and swelling, but safe enough to not cause cold burns. Ice and blue gel packs will also start out at -20°C and rapidly go to 0°C, but then their temperature keeps rising quickly, instead of staying in the safe, effective zone of 0°C. The XC Gel® danger zone is very small, but the benefits are huge.
While XC Gel® packs are designed to be stored in the freezer, you can store them in the fridge if you find them too cold from the freezer. Not all freezers are the same. If you find that the gel is too stiff from the freezer, leave it out for 1-2 minutes before inserting it inside the wrap. When the pack is soft enough to bend, it's ready to use for treatment.
Many people follow the RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation - method when treating a soft tissue injury. What most of these people probably don't realize is that there are serious dangers associated with icing injuries. Ice can actually freeze your skin and numb your nerves, causing 'cold burns' and even permanent damage to your skin and underlying tissue. The proper solution is RCCE® - Rest, Cold, Compression & Elevation. We don't want to apply ice - we want to apply cold that's just above freezing. Yes, you want cold - and lots of it - but not so cold that it is below the freezing point of water.
XC Gel® packs contain 10x more gel per lb than ordinary gel packs, meaning they cover much more of your foot. When stored in the freezer, our XC Gel® packs have 3x more cooling power per lb than standard gel packs, allowing for extended treatment durations. This means faster relief of your pain and swelling. It also means less time getting up to swap out the packs. Bigger packs with more gel inside plus maximum cooling power equals an overall better, more effective treatment.
ColdCure® Foot gel packs are specially designed to conform to the bottom of your foot and up the back of your heel. This ensures that your Plantar Fascia receives an even distribution of cooling power. We don't just use one generic gel pack with all of our wraps. Each one of our gel packs is custom designed for a specific part of the body. Each part of the body is uniquely shaped, which is why each one of our gel packs is uniquely shaped too. This product has 100% been designed to treat Plantar Fasciitis.
Unique XC RigiGel® Formula
Gel packs are notorious for having hot and cold spots. Our XC RigiGel® formula distributes the cold evenly throughout the pack. When cold pressure is applied to a foot with Plantar Fasciitis, the gel starts to warm up in that specific spot faster than the rest of the pack. The cold energy in our gel packs is transferred from the cold spots to the warm spots much more effectively. This valuable improvement means that your hot, swollen foot will receive the cooling power of the entire pack every time. The temperature-balancing power of this gel formula is unmatched.
XC RigiGel® packs have 2 different colored sides: a white side and a gold side. Both sides will provide you with all of the same amazing benefits that XC RigiGel® has to offer. XC Gel® packs can be inserted inside the wrap with the white side facing towards your Plantar Fascia or away from your Plantar Fascia since they're not side specific.
